Our Story
Marjorie was my grandmother.
Growing up, I had a front‑row seat to what it looks like when a family lovingly supports an elder through the many seasons of aging. I watched my mother and my two aunts walk beside Grandma Marjorie as her needs slowly changed — helping with household tasks, running errands, listening to her stories, and making sure she felt safe, valued, and cared for.
There was no single moment when Grandma Marjorie suddenly needed help. Instead, support grew naturally, one small act at a time. A ride to an appointment. Help around the house. Someone to sit and talk over homemade banana bread. Someone to notice when things felt a little harder than before as vision loss and mobility issues made daily life more difficult for Grandma.
What stayed with me most was not just what my mother and aunts did, but how they did it — with patience, respect, and deep love.
Marjorie was able to remain at home for years thanks to the loving support of her daughters. She relished being surrounded by people who enabled her to do the things she enjoyed and helped manage the daily tasks of heart and home.
Years later, I found myself walking a similar path when I became a source of support for my own parents as they aged. Over the course of about fifteen years, I helped keep their apartment tidy, ran errands, accompanied them to hundreds of medical and other appointments, and served as their advocate when navigating increasingly complex systems. More than anything, I was there — to notice changes, to lend a steady hand, and to make sure they didn’t have to face aging alone.
That time meant more to me than I can easily put into words. Supporting my parents was both a responsibility and a privilege. It reinforced what I had learned all those years ago: that having consistent, compassionate support can make an enormous difference during this stage of life — not just practically, but emotionally.
Marjorie’s Daughters In‑Home Senior Support was created to carry that same spirit into the lives of other seniors and families. We believe support should feel personal, steady, and kind — like family helping family. Our work honors the quiet, essential care that allows older adults to age safely and comfortably in the place they call home.
